Adam Carter Fitness Center Spring
• Discounted rate for the student center $30 one-time fee, 24/7
access to the facility until the end of May.
• Summer membership June-July $20 one-time fee
• Outdoor fitness court classes: Tuesdays/Thursdays 12:15-12:45 in
April, members and non-members. $20 for 4 class once a week.
(Outdoor fitness center is located next to the power plant on the
East side of campus 4th and Cedar intersection)
• May: Month-long fitness challenge for colleges and employee
departments, more information coming soon!
Jennifer Doughty Student Financial Services
• Late fees will be applied soon, do not forget to pay your graduation
fee! Log into your GUS account to verify that you do not have an
outstanding balance.
• Public Service Loan Forgiveness – eligible to full-time UAMS
employees and residents. Visit https://studentaid.gov for more
information.
May 1st is the deadline to consolidate loans and make them
eligible for the PSLF plan.
Reach out to studentfinancialservices@uams.edu with any
questions.
• Financial aid packages will start coming out in April. Check your
GUS portal for any updates.
• If interested in summer 2023 aid, you will need to complete and
return the summer aid form found on our website.
Dr. Kristy Caldwell Introduction
• Dr. Caldwell is the new manager of Student Center. UAMS is very
excited to have her back! She previously spent 19 years working at
UAMS and is a graduate of the MPH and DPH programs at UAMS
• GradFest is March 16th 11am-2pm Student Center (Dec graduates
are welcome)

• Free lunch at Student Center April 6th

• ASG event March 31st Splatter room at Pinspiration
Times will be: 4-6 pm or 6-8 pm
You get a canvas and head-to-toe protection gear
2 groups of 10 students go in at a time, snacks and music
provided
Sign up is active now, limited number of spots are available
• Congratulations to M3 for winning the intramurals basketball
championship
• There were 12 teams that competed in the annual tennis
tournament on 3/12/23 at Allsopp park
• Co-rec softball will be held on April 2nd, 16th, 23rd. There are 9
players needed per team. (No games on 4/9/23 Easter)

• Please turn in application ASAP, more time will be given to get
references in if needed
• ASG officer duties and responsibilities are listed below
President
ASG experience required
Preside at all meetings of the ASG and student health insurance
Officially represent the student body of UAMS
Notify the Secretary concerning special policy decisions to establish the next meeting agenda
Appoint any committees necessary to conduct the functions of the ASG
Notify Student Activities Assistant Director of issues and concerns
Submit a proposed budget plan at the beginning of term
Propose activities and events for all students
Participate in student orientations and registrations
Assist with student events and door check-in’s
Meet with Assistant Director monthly to discuss meeting agenda and other ASG issues
Preside & serve on ASG committee
$500 stipend per term
Vice- President
ASG experience required
Preside at all meetings of the Council in the absence of President
Officially represent the student body of UAMS
Coordinate and direct the implementation of all ASG Sponsored events
Coordinate ASG correspondence
Coordinate and assist sign-in groups for events
Propose activities and events for all students
Participate in student orientations and registrations
Notify Assistant Director of issues and concerns
Meet with Assistant Director monthly to discuss meeting agenda and other ASG issues
Preside & serve on ASG committee
$400 stipend per term
Secretary
Send a seven-day notice of agenda and location of meetings to all parties
Record minutes and distribute the following week after the meeting
Conduct correspondence of ASG
Inform all school representatives of meetings and dispense meeting agenda
Notify representatives of events to announce
Assist officers with distribution of flyers and notices of events
Meet with Assistant Director monthly to discuss meeting agenda and other ASG issues
Preside & serve on ASG committee
$150 stipend per term
Treasurer
Keep an account of all financial transactions of the ASG
Work with Asst. Director on financial status of ASG at each meeting
Help and assist with ASG meeting set up as well as order lunch for each ASG meeting one
week prior to meeting
Meet with Assistant Director monthly to discuss meeting agenda and other ASG issues
Preside & serve on ASG committee
Back-up to secretary
$150 stipend per term
All officer stipends are paid in semester installments at the end of the fall and spring semesters.
