The UAMS Residence Hall consists of two four-story residence halls with a total of 177 units. The facility is conveniently located on the west side of campus at 4601 W. Markham St. Campus housing is available to students, residents, faculty, staff, patient families, and other UAMS affiliates.
Qualifying Summer Programs
Summer housing is allowed, on a limited basis, to UAMS colleges and departments when available. Summer housing applications must be submitted through a designated college/department program coordinator. Students participating in such programs should coordinate arrangements with the summer program coordinator. Note, UAMS students are not required to vacate the facility. Therefore, reservations are granted upon availability on a limited basis.
Application Process
A separate housing application is required for each student, along with all applicable fees and deposits. If a department agrees to pay fees and/or rent, the IDT account number must be included on the summer housing application prior to submission. Applications are processed when all required information and fees are received by the set deadline. Incomplete applications, email requests/inquiries are not processed or considered.
Summer Program Dates
Summer applications are accepted each spring, between March 1 and May 1. Summer 2026 housing is offered from May 26 to July 31, and students must vacate before the UAMS fall student move-in timeframe. Tentatively Summer 2027 will be May 24-July 23, Summer 2028 May 22-July 21
Available Room Types
Multiple occupancy duplex dorm rooms and efficiency studios. The Housing Office reserves the right to determine room type and cost. All units are shared spaces.
Room Assignments
Assignments are based on availability and made on a first-come, first-served basis.
Parking
Parking arrangements must be made through Parking Operations. Call 501-526-7275 for cost and availability.
Code of Conduct
A signed Code of Conduct agreement must be on file for all summer program students (available at check-in). Students under age 18 require camp counselors on premises during the program timeframe to ensure protocol.
Visitors
Due to room sharing, no overnight visitors are allowed.
Check-In
Summer program participants should check in at the UAMS Residence Hall Administration Building (4601 W. Markham St.) between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Closed holidays and weekends.
What to Bring
Students will need the following items during their stay at the Residence Hall:
- Bed and bath linen (twin sheets, towels, pillows, blankets)
- Reading lamp (optional)
- Cooking/eating supplies
- Alarm clock
- Cleaning supplies
- Personal toiletries
- Mini fridge (for students assigned to dorm rooms)
- TV (optional)
NOTE: There are no community refrigerators. Dorm room residents are allowed one dorm-size refrigerator per room. Studio apartments are equipped with a small refrigerator.
Vacating Procedures
Guests must check out by 10 a.m.
To avoid cleaning charges, students must follow the room checklist below:
- Remove all trash and food items from the room and refrigerator. Trash should be disposed of in the trash chute, located on the west end of the hallway.
- Clean kitchen counters, sink, stove/oven, refrigerator, and microwave.
- Clean bathroom sink, tub/shower, and toilet.
- Floors and furniture should be free of dust/dirt.
Upon departure, return the room key and access card to the front office.
PLEASE NOTE: Rent is charged until all keys/access cards are returned to the housing office.
