ASG Trivia Night for November 7 has been postponed and new date will be announced in the spring. The tentative date for the event is Friday, January 30, at 7 pm. Students should be encouraged to download the student app since email is used for UAMS compliance.
There will be a Breakfast at the Student Center event on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 from 8 am until we run out of goodies!
Remember to attend Dr. Storey, next session of the Professionalism Series, hosted by The Department of Academic Pathways and Workforce Partnerships and the Graduate School. This event is open to students across all healthcare disciplines. It will be held in IDW 226 and Zoom.
We’ll email the link: https://uams.zoom.us/j/98819249828?pwd=MFK1IX1cMqizK95S2KMuEDSxKonLIi.1
Students will learn:
- How to demonstrate professional behavior in the classroom and workplace, including attending on time, participating respectfully, and maintaining clear communication.
- How to behave professionally at work-related events—such as team meetings, presentations, interdisciplinary collaborations, and networking opportunities.
- Why these professional behaviors matter: they help build trust, respect, and effective collaboration in STEM and healthcare environments. They also serve as foundational habits that support your success now (in courses, labs, internships) and in your future career.
- How creating a supportive, inclusive STEM environment amplifies learning and participation for everyone—and how your professionalism contributes to that positive environment.
Why you should attend:
- Gain practical insight into how your conduct—whether in class, clinical settings, labs, or professional events—impacts your academic and career trajectory.
- Understand how disciplines like pharmacy, radiology, nursing, public health, and medicine intersect in multidisciplinary STEM-based environments and what professional behavior looks like in those settings.
- Connect with fellow students across disciplines and reflect on how you can contribute to building a respectful, inclusive STEM community.
- For questions about the event students should contact Dr. Patrice Storey at 501-686-5358 or email PNstorey@uams.edu .

Stocked and Reddie /Food Drive/Volunteer
Morgan Whited/Bushra Zaman
We’re asking all students to volunteer at Stocked and Reddie this month and in December. The Stocked and Reddie staff are short-handed right now and could use help if you have the time. You can sign up on their webpage to volunteer.
Students discussed other food pantry options like the Compassion Center and The Van.
Students please also consider and think about spring activities you would like to add and attend. We’re thinking about bringing back Painting with a Twist and Top Golf. However, we ask for your input as it helps to ensure we’re hosting things students enjoy.
ASG officers would like suggestions on more interaction from ASG representatives. Does anyone have any suggestions to increase participation? It was suggested that maybe giving a face-to-face option to meet for ASG meetings may be a good idea.
There will be no ASG meeting in December due to finals and holiday breaks. Also, in the spring there will be no meeting in May due to finals and graduation.
The next ASG Meeting is:
Monday, January 12, 2026
No meeting will be held in December
