- Welcome to our final ASG meeting of the year, and thank you!
- ASG has successfully hosted all of its events this year: the Arkansas Travelers game on September 6, Professor Bowl on October 11, Painting with a Twist on February 7, and more.
- The Top Golf event was last Friday on April 11 with close to 200 people in attendance. Students had a great time.
- Breakfast at the Center was a success as well.
Office of the Registrar – Clinton Everhart - For those graduating, please order your regalia by tomorrow.
- Visit https://commencement.uams.edu/ for information about graduation dates and locations as well as regalia.
- Each college has its own ceremony; there will not be a centralized UAMS
commencement ceremony. - Commencement@uams.edu is where students may email any questions.
- Ms. Dedner and Mr. Everhart mentioned that students should check on any parking fines, keys to labs, or potential clearance items. Badges can be returned. Students will be notified if any action is needed.
Workday – Dr. Kristen Sterba - Students will register for fall courses in Workday.
- Also, be sure to complete insurance verification and complete any holds from GUS.
- Students who have attended other UA schools (like UALR) may see academic information for both schools; however, UAMS cannot see that information from a previous school.
- If students have any questions, they can email workdaystudent@uams.edu.
- Mr. Everhart added that he recommends students enter Workday and check their contact information and complete any onboarding steps.
Intramural Sports/ASG Events – Ricardo Ante - Breakfast at the Center on March 11 was a success and had approximately 120 attendees.
- About 100 students attended Arkansas State Night at the Arkansas Skatium.
- The ASG pickleball tournament at Burns Park had 50 participants and a great time was had.
- The sand volleyball tournament is coming up, and it will be at the Murray Park volleyball courts.
ASG Events and Activities – Clay Tyler - Despite some weather postponements, recent events were successful with an awesome turnout and a great time.
- Sand volleyball will be a 4v4 tournament at the Rebsamen Park volleyball courts. It will be a one-day event from 1:00-6:00, and students can sign up on the app.
- ASG elections are coming up, and a link to applications is in the app. The deadline to apply is April 29 at noon. On April 30 at noon, selections for positions will be posted on the app.
- Ms. Dedner added that if students have not verified their health insurance, they need to do that so the hold can be lifted.
Community Service – Clay Tyler - Mr. Tyler reminded representatives and officers about signing up to volunteer at the hospital. Ms. Jennifer Huie spoke about this opportunity at the last meeting. Feel free to reach out with any questions about volunteering.
Ms. Nottenkamper added that she is available to meet with graduating students about student loan repayment. Be sure to check your balance for any graduation fees and to complete the exit counseling requirement for student loans.
