Introduction of Student Services Manager Mr. Ricardo Ante and Intramural Sports/ASG
Events – Clay Tyler - Mr. Ante started Tuesday. His office is in the Student Center. He is the point of contact for organization registration and annual reports in spring. He will oversee intramural sports. This fall, the following intramural sports are planned: soccer, flag football, and ping pong.
- The first intramural sporting event for this fall was yesterday’s successful intramural golf tournament at Burns Park in which 44 students participated. It is the third year for the tournament, and numbers have increased every year. We are looking forward to doing that every year.
- Intramural soccer will be held on September 22 and September 29. The form on the app is open (with a 5 people per team minimum).
- Flag football will be held on October 20 and 27. More details to come.
- ASG activities have begun with the successful Travelers game on Friday.
- In October, a Professor Bowl event is planned with pizza.
- As for Campus Life events, the resource fair/Constitution Day event is Sept 17 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Several on-campus departments and organizations such as the Fitness Center, Stocked & Reddie, and more will be present. Lunch will be served (Two Sisters Cafe). Hayden Wood, ASG representative, will have a table for voter registration.
- On October 15, lunch for students is planned at the Student Center.
- A trivia night in November is in the works.
Community Service Committee – Szarria Thomas - Szarria will head the Volunteer Committee. Two community service projects will be planned–at least one during the spring and at least one during the fall.
