Ice Cream Palooza – Loblolly or LePops
April 10th, noon, Student Center
Students voted for Loblolly after LePops taste test. It was the better cost effective option.
Student Health Insurance Renewal Update
February 28th, IDW 115A, noon
Premium increasing this year by 22.6% ($40.67), from $2140 to $2624. Main cause; small pool and high rate of utilization. Campus has soft waiver allowing student’s flexibility to purchase what they want. Implementing a hard waiver means mandatory enrollment into AHP policy and students do not want this option.
However we found rates weren’t the pain point. Students as a whole understood why the rates were increasing. The issue was user error, setting up accounts to print cards and maybe a few cards not being found in the system during a PCP visit. Nakia listed the problems and submitted to AHP. The AHP Rep is working through the claims and helping students resolve their issues.
IPE Student Health Insurance 101 Pilot Update
February 28th, 2:30-5pm - Great way to learn more about insurance as it relates to health
professionals - This project started last semester through ASG and was a huge
undertaking. It was truly an immersion of health insurance education.
Which is exactly what we were looking for. Our AHP representative
presented and answered questions for the participants. There were
minimal suggestions, therefore this course will be offered next term.
