Will my visits, the information I share, and my health records be kept private and confidential?
Yes, maintaining your confidentiality is our highest priority. We will not share information about your care with anyone unless we have written permission from you
There are a few rare exceptions: if we are concerned about the immediate safety of you or someone else; if we suspect child abuse or neglect or the abuse, neglect, or exploitation of endangered or impaired adults; and in the event of a court order.
Where are you located?
The Student Wellness Program office is located on campus in the Mediplex Building. You can find us off West Markham between Burger King and Biomed II across from the Fire Station.
Will my visits be documented in EPIC, the UAMS electronic medical records system?
No. The Student Wellness Program maintains its own medical records and is not connected to EPIC.
What is the Interactive Screening Program (ISP)?
Some students are reluctant to seek help for emotional problems because of stigma, lack of familiarity with mental health resources, or cultural differences. For many, it’s not especially easy to pick up the phone and make an appointment.
The Interactive Screening Program (ISP), provided through a partnership between UAMS and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), allows students to connect with SWP mental health professionals anonymously via the web. Click here to find out more.
