Answering Practice Questions
Practice questions are helpful when reviewing material. Instructors often offer practice questions, and you can find additional practice questions in your textbooks and review books.
Why are practice questions so important?
- Practice questions will serve as your guide to study and they might be used multiple times.
- They will point out what is important and what you need to re-study.
- They will help you to know if you know information. By answering practice questions, you will practice retrieval of information from long-term memory, and it will strengthen your learning.
- Don’t get frustrated if you don’t know an answer for the first time. Restudy what you did not know. Persistence will pay off!
How do I find time to answer practice questions?
- Incorporate time for answering practice questions in your schedule. Check on time management section. Use weekends to review the material.
- Don’t save practice questions until right before an exam. It will be too late to modify your studying, and you might start panicking if you don’t know the answers.
