The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is the only academic health center in the state of Arkansas. UAMS graduates are skilled specialists in many health professions – including nursing, medicine, pharmacy, dental hygiene, physical therapy, and physician assistants to name a few. UAMS also leads in research in the fields of biomedical research and public health. Nearly 80% of UAMS graduates remain in the state to serve the health care needs of Arkansans.

College of Medicine

The College of Medicine is the state’s only M.D. granting medical school and the state’s only comprehensive academic medical center.
