The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is the only academic health center in the state of Arkansas. UAMS graduates are skilled specialists in many health professions – including nursing, medicine, pharmacy, dental hygiene, physical therapy, and physician assistants to name a few. UAMS also leads in research in the fields of biomedical research and public health. Nearly 80% of UAMS graduates remain in the state to serve the health care needs of Arkansans.
