5th annual Arkansas Minority Barber & Beauty Shop Health Initiative

The Office of Minority Health and Health Disparities at the Arkansas Department of Health is recruiting volunteers for the 5th Annual Arkansas Minority Barber & Beauty Shop Health Initiative. The mission of this initiative is to increase public awareness about heart disease and stroke among African Americans and Latinos in a convenient location. The event will take place on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at participating sites in Pulaski county.
Each site (Barber or Beauty Shop) will have a designated Health Team consisting of the following: Captain, Nurse, APN, EMT, Nursing Student, Medical Student, Pharmacy Student, Dietitian, Dietetic Student, Tobacco Representative (Stamp out Smoking), AR Saves Representative, Registration Volunteer, Runner, Medical Student and Medical Doctor. Most sites will have more than one Health Team.
